On March 24, 2026, Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Romania, Annamammet Annayev, welcomed Ms. Marilena Mladin, President of the Romanian Equestrian Federation at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Romania.
During the conversation, the parties discussed prospects for developing cooperation in horse breeding and equestrian sports. Particular attention was paid to Turkmenistan’s rich historical heritage, particularly the Akhal-Teke horse breed, which is rightfully considered a national treasure and symbol of the country.
The Turkmen side also reported on the large-scale work being carried out to develop the equestrian industry in the country, including the improvement of modern equestrian infrastructure, the activities of the State Association “Turkmenatlary”, as well as the International Academy of Horse Breeding named after Aba Annayev.
In addition, the international significance of the National Turkmen Horse Festival, which includes international equestrian competitions, exhibitions, and scientific conferences, bringing together equestrian professionals and enthusiasts from around the world, was particularly noted.
