On 17 March 2026, in the historical centre of Tbilisi, in Abanotubani, with the support of the City Hall, with the participation of the Embassies of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkiye, Diasporas and cultural centres, International Day of Novruz was celebrated.
In the cultural area of the Turkmenistan’s Embassy, designed in a national style, guests were able to experience the unique identity and the richness of the country’s cultural heritage. Books by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov were presented, along with traditional costumes, jewellery, colourful handmade carpets, paintings, souvenirs, national dishes and sweets, as well as a separate stand dedicated to the 2026 motto: “Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan-Homeland of Purposeful Heavenly Horses”.
Nowruz has long been an integral part of the life and culture of Eastern peoples. The traditions of Nowruz highlight the unique identity of each nation, fostering friendship, unity, peace, and mutual trust among peoples. This holiday serves as an excellent example of fruitful intercultural dialogue, embodying the inseparable link between past and present, the continuity of generations, and the enduring nature of universal humanistic values.
