The ninth meeting of the Subcommittee on Humanitarian Cooperation, part of the Turkmenistan–China Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee, was held in Beijing. The session was co-chaired by the Deputy Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan, G.Sh. Myradalyyev, and the Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of the PRC, Gao Zhen, according to the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, particular attention was paid to academic mobility, the quality of personnel training, and the further institutionalization of cooperation.
According to data for the 2025–2026 academic year, more than 7,000 citizens of Turkmenistan are currently studying at Chinese higher education institutions.
In this context, the following points were discussed:
- Proposals to enhance the academic readiness of candidates and the possible piloting of preliminary assessment mechanisms.
- Prospects for expanding cooperation in personnel training within priority sectors.
- The development of joint projects, including the establishment of competence centers and joint laboratories.
A separate topic of discussion involved initiatives for the professional development of Chinese language teachers and the joint preparation of educational and methodological materials.
