On 13 February 2026, an event was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Uzbekistan dedicated to the motto of 2026: “Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan – homeland of purposeful heavenly horses.” The gathering also featured the presentation of the book by the President of Turkmenistan, titled “Neutrality of Turkmenistan – A Bright Path of Peace and Trust.”
The event was attended by a deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Chairman of the Republican Turkmen Cultural Center, representatives of the Turkmen diaspora and students enrolled in Uzbekistan’s higher education institutions, embassy staff and officials.


In his address, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sh. Meredov, emphasized that the motto of 2026 serves as a logical continuation of the ideals of 2025—the International Year of Peace and Trust. He noted that the symbolism of the current motto is rooted in both the Turkmen people’s historical commitment to spiritual and cultural values and modern global realities.
Furthermore, the Ambassador highlighted Turkmenistan’s initiative to proclaim 2028 as the Year of International Law, reflecting the nation’s steadfast commitment to the principles of international law and the rule of law.
During the event, the book by the President of Turkmenistan, “Neutrality of Turkmenistan – A Bright Path of Peace and Trust,” was presented to the participants. The discussion focused on its conceptual and practical frameworks, noting that the publication explores the legal and political foundations of neutrality. It details neutrality’s role in ensuring regional and global stability. It showcases Turkmenistan’s contribution to promoting a culture of peace and trust.
The event concluded with a reception where guests were invited to sample traditional dishes of Turkmen national cuisine. ///nCa, 13 February 2026
