The Pakistan-Turkmenistan Parliamentary Friendship Group met on 11 February 2026 with Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Atadjan Nurlyevich Movlamov, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and exploring new areas for cooperation, according to the Associated Press of Pakistan.

Movlamov highlighted Turkmenistan’s development goals, economic prospects, and active participation in multilateral forums that promote dialogue and regional stability. He also emphasized the nation’s tourism potential, including its famous horse breeds and vast natural landscapes.
Discussions centered on strengthening inter-parliamentary engagement through the respective Parliamentary Friendship Groups and identifying opportunities to boost trade, connectivity, transport infrastructure, and broader economic ties between the two nations.
Members of the Pakistani parliamentary group praised the detailed briefing and recognized Turkmenistan’s commitment to regional cooperation and sustainable development. They stressed the need for regular dialogue, exchanges of parliamentary delegations, and continued people-to-people contacts to deepen the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and Turkmenistan.
Convener Perwani noted that Parliamentary Friendship Groups provide an effective institutional mechanism for fostering understanding and cooperation between legislatures.
