On 21 January 2026, Turkmenistan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Myahri Byashimova met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Chad to Turkmenistan (with residence in Moscow), Mahamoud Adam Bechir, who presented copies of his credentials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Deputy Minister Byashimova congratulated the ambassador on his appointment to the high diplomatic post and assured him of Turkmenistan’s full readiness to provide all necessary assistance and support in carrying out his diplomatic duties.
During the meeting, the two sides held a detailed exchange on the current state and future prospects of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Chad in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres. They noted the positive experience of cooperation on multilateral platforms and expressed mutual readiness to continue the practice of supporting each other’s initiatives within the framework of the United Nations.
At the conclusion, both diplomats reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening and developing fruitful cooperation based on the principles of equality and mutual respect.
The same day, Speaker of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova received the credentials from Ambassador Mahamoud Adam Bechir.
Ambassador Bechir was briefed in detail on the main directions of Turkmenistan’s domestic policy, its peaceful foreign policy as a permanently neutral state, and the activities of the national parliament.
Both sides expressed satisfaction that, under present conditions, the development of political-diplomatic contacts — as well as the intensification of cooperation in trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian, and parliamentary fields — serves the interests of both nations. Particular emphasis was placed on the broad opportunities available for exchanging experience in improving national legislation and parliamentary practice, familiarizing each other with the economic and investment potential of the two states, and further consolidating friendly ties between their peoples.
At the end of the audience, the Ambassador of the Republic of Chad assured that he would spare no effort to advance interstate relations on the basis of equality, mutual respect, and constructive partnership. ///nCa, 21 January 2026
