On 15 December 2025, chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova received the credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea to Turkmenistan, Luciano Nkogo Ndong Ayecaba (resident in Moscow).
On behalf of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the Speaker of Parliament congratulated the diplomat on his appointment to this high post and wished him success in his work aimed at developing mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, the ambassador was briefed on the main directions of the domestic and foreign policy of independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan, as well as on the composition and activities of the Mejlis in modernizing the country’s national legal framework.
Highly appreciating Turkmenistan’s policy of positive neutrality, Luciano Nkogo Ndong Ayecaba noted that he would continue to support Ashgabat’s universal initiatives on the international arena. He also congratulated the Turkmen side on the 30th anniversary of the UN recognition of the country’s permanent neutrality status, which was widely celebrated in 2025.
On the same day, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Serdar Muhammetdurdyev held a meeting with the Ambassador of Equatorial Guinea, during which the diplomat presented copies of his credentials.
The parties reaffirmed their commitment to developing bilateral relations in the political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres, discussed strengthening the legal framework for cooperation, and explored opportunities for establishing trade-economic and cultural ties.
Particular emphasis was placed on the effectiveness of interaction within international organizations, primarily the United Nations.
The Republic of Equatorial Guinea is a country in Central Africa with a population of about 1.7 million people and its capital in Malabo (on Bioko Island). The country’s economy largely depends on oil and gas extraction, making it one of the wealthiest in Africa by GDP per capita, although income distribution remains uneven./// nCa, 16 December 2025
