On the sidelines of the International Forum “Peace and Trust: Unity of Goals for a Sustainable Future,” President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov warmly welcomed the distinguished guest, thanking him for accepting the invitation to the forum timed to coincide with the International Year of Peace and Trust, Neutrality Day, and the anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutral policy.
“Your participation in this representative forum testifies to your support for Turkmenistan’s neutrality policy and the great importance you attach to the principles of peacefulness,” emphasized the President of Turkmenistan (according to TDH).
Erdogan, in turn, highly appreciated the peace-loving course of fraternal Turkmenistan, noting its impressive achievements in all areas of development.
Berdimuhamedov highlighted the strategic nature of relations with Türkiye, stating: “Your participation in this representative forum testifies to your support for Turkmenistan’s neutrality policy and the great importance you attach to the principles of peacefulness.”
Particular emphasis was placed on the economy: today, Türkiye is one of Turkmenistan’s key trade and economic partners. Vast horizons are open for the two countries in the fuel and energy and transport-communication sectors, agriculture, and investments—both bilaterally and in a regional format.
The conversation also touched on the humanitarian side: opportunities for expanding cultural and humanitarian dialogue between the peoples appear highly promising.
Concluding the talks, the presidents exchanged best wishes, expressing firm confidence in the further strengthening of traditionally friendly Turkmen-Turkish relations. ///nCa, 13 December 2025
