The rapid and blitz stages of the Turkmenistan Youth Chess Championship have concluded, with an additional 72 medals awarded. This follows the completion of the classical stage on Friday, January 30.
At the awards ceremony, Jahan Rejepova (Lebap province) and Nurana Soyunova (“Kusht Alemi” Academy) stole the spotlight. Both athletes achieved a “golden hat-trick,” winning first place across all three formats: classical, rapid, and blitz. They competed in the Girls Under-16 and Under-14 categories, respectively.
Ali Ahmedov, representing the Specialized Chess and Checkers School of Ashgabat, also delivered a dominant performance, securing two gold medals in the classical and rapid events.
In the overall team standings across all disciplines, Lebap province emerged as the leader, claiming first place for the highest medal count. Mary province followed in second place, while the third-place honors were shared by the “Kusht Alemi” Academy and the Specialized Chess and Checkers School of Ashgabat.
Other notable podium finishes included Jennet Yalkanova (Mary province), who earned two gold medals, and Mahri Agamyradova (Lebap province), who took home three silver medals.
