Indian Ambassador Makes Farewell Call on President of Turkmenistan

Ashgabat, 26 April 2007 (nCa) --- Ambassador Ram Pal Kaushik, who is nearing the end of his tenure in Ashgabat, made Thursday farewell call on President Berdymuhammedov.
The president thanked the Indian envoy for his efforts in strengthening the Turkmenistan-India relations and fraternal ties between the people of both the countries. He also underlined that trade-economic relations and cooperation in the spheres of healthcare and culture increased considerably during the watch of ambassador Kasushik.
The Indian ambassador conveyed the personal greetings of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his assurance of full cooperation on the entire spectrum of bilateral relations to President Berdymuhammedov.
Ambassador Kaushik also extended the invitation by the head of his government for official visit of President Berdymuhammedov to India.
The sides agreed that oil and gas sector, information and computer technology were priority areas for fruitful partnership.
The Indian diplomat also expressed the high interest of his country to participate in the Trans-Afghan gas pipeline.
Ambassador Kaushik said that India would like to continue cooperation in the field of education including the education of military personnel. President Berdymuhammedov said that Turkmenistan was always open for cooperation on the basis of equality and mutual benefit.
