Ashgabat, 24 April 2008 (nCa) --- In deference to popular demand, the parliament of Turkmenistan is debating a bill to revert to the conventional names of months, undoing the novelty introduced during Niyazov era.
Ms. Akja Nurberdiyeva, chairperson of the Turkmen parliament, told during a session of the cabinet of ministers Wednesday that a bill could be passed by the end of June 2008 to transit back to conventional names of months.
She added that names of days in the week could be adapted to conform to the usage and tradition of the Turkmen people.
