Prosecutor General of Turkmenistan Fired
Ashgabat, 4 March 2008 (nCa) --- Prosecutor General of Turkmenistan has been fired from his job because of the ‘dirty deeds, slatternliness and pursuit of self-interest’ of his staff.
President Berdymuhamedov said during an expanded meeting of the national security council Monday that Prosecutor General Muhammetguly Ogshukov had failed to meet the demands of his job. He recommended to the parliament that the prosecutor general be removed from his job.
In a session of the parliament the same day a resolution was passed with unanimous vote to replace the prosecutor general
Chief Justice of Turkmenistan, Chary Khojamuradov, has been asked to take over as prosecutor general.
Yaranmurat Yazmuradov, chief judge of Ahal province, has been elevated to head the supreme court of Turkmenistan.
