Gazprom to Charge Ukraine US $ 180 for Gas Supplies in 2008

Ashgabat, 4 December 2007 (nCa) --- Gazprom, the Russian monopoly that is main supplier of natural gas to Ukraine and Europe, has informed today that it will charge US $ 179.5 per thousand cubic meters for gas supplies to Ukraine in 2008.
The decision came during a meeting Tuesday between Gazprom CEO Alexi Miller and Ukrainian minister for fuel and energy, Yury Boyko, in Moscow.
Gazprom has told that transit charges would be US $ 1.7 (per 1000 cubic meters per 100 kilometers) for Ukraine in Russian territory and for Russia in Ukrainian territory.
