Turkmenistan-Russia Joint Commission 10 July, Russia Pulls Closer to Turkmenistan
Ashgabat, 23 June 2007 (nCa) --- Turkmenistan-Russia joint intergovernmental commission will meet on 10 July 2007 in Ashgabat.
The announcement came Friday during a meeting of cabinet of ministers where Reshit Meredov, deputy prime minister and foreign minister of Turkmenistan, briefed the participants of the meeting.
He told the meeting that a Russian delegation led by Sergei Naryshkin, deputy prime minister of Russia, will visit Turkmenistan 10 July for the intergovernmental commission meeting.
The meeting was postponed earlier because Reshit Meredov, who is also the co-chair of the commission, was away from Turkmenistan.
Meredov told the cabinet meeting that Russia-Turkmenistan relations were on the rise.
Several Russian delegations including the Itera, Tatneft, Lukoil and Gazprom have visited Turkmenistan during the past few days.
Lukoil is hosting 14 Turkmen specialists at their facilities in Russia to familiarize them with the latest technologies and production and processing methods.
A group of Russian doctors is visiting Turkmenistan. Besides delivering lectures and consulting with their local counterparts, they have performed a number of complicated operations on the patients in Ashgabat.
