US $ 14 Million Grand Mosque in Mary Province of Turkmenistan

Ashgabat, 23 June 2007 (nCa) --- The government of Turkmenistan has allocated US $ 13.7 million for the completion of a mosque project that has been lying in doldrums for several years in the Mary of province.
President Berdymuhammedov signed Friday a decree, allowing the governor’s office of Mary province to sign a contract with the Turkish construction company Klych Inshaat.
Under the contact terms Klych is required to complete the mosque project and add a hotel and a cafeteria in the adjoining territory. Landscaping is also included in the project cost.State budget would contribute US $ 12.7 million and the rest of the funding will come from the president’s charity fund.
Klych will start working on the project in June 2007 and it should be ready by October 2008.
