Presidents of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan Discuss North-South Corridor in Phone Talks

Ashgabat, 19 June 2007 (nCa) --- In a phone talk Monday, the presidents of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan discussed some issued of mutual interest including the North-South trade and transportation corridor.
President Berdymuhammedov told his Kazakh counterpart that Iran had agreed to lay a railway line to connect with the railway systems of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Iran would sign a trilateral agreement for linking their railways systems together. The agreement would be signed on the sidelines of the forthcoming Caspian summit in Tehran.
Nazarbaev appreciated the initiative of the Turkmen president and expressed his full support for the integration of the railway system.of the three neighbouring countries.
