Turkmenistan Formalizes Initial Order of Iranian Buses
Ashgabat, 19 June 2007 (nCa) --- Through a presidential decree issued Monday, Turkmenistan has formalized the purchase order of the initial batches of Iranian buses.
According to the presidential decree, Iran Khodro would supply 10 luxury Intercity “SC-457” and 300 “City Bus-0457” urban buses to Turkmenistan.
Unit price of urban buses is US $ 90000. Intercity luxury buses would cost US $ 146000 per unit.
In addition to buses, Iran Khodro would provide spare parts and essential material worth US $ 2.846 million.
Total value of the order is US $ 31.3 million.
During the recent visit of President Berdymuhammedov to Iran, Turkmenistan agreed to buy 1000 buses from Iran. If the initial batch of 310 buses proves suitable for the climatic and road conditions of Turkmenistan, the remaining units would be ordered in due course of time.
