Turkmenistan to Participate in Tehran Meeting of Caspian Foreign Ministers
Ashgabat, 19 June 2007 (nCa) --- Turkmenistan will participate in the meeting of the Caspian foreign ministers that would be held in Tehran tomorrow.
Reshit Meredov, foreign minister and deputy prime minister, would lead the Turkmen delegation.
Khushgeldy Babaev, deputy foreign minister for Caspian affairs, is included in the delegation.
The Caspian foreign ministers meeting would prepare grounds for the second Caspian summit scheduled for later this year in Tehran.
Foreign ministers of Russia and Kazakhstan have already confirmed their participation in the meeting.
Besides Caspian issues, the foreign ministers are expected to discuss some regional developments.
The Caspian summit would focus on determination of the legal status of Caspian, regional security and local cooperation.
First Caspian summit was held in Ashgabat in April 2002.
