Turkmenistan Buys Material worth US $ 106 Million for North-South Rail Link

Ashgabat, 14 February 2008 (nCa) --- Turkmenistan will place orders with three foreign companies for supply of material needed for construction of North-South railway line.
Total value of the order is about US $ 106.4 million with the following breakdown:
- Trinity Commercial enterprises Ltd. (British Virgin Islands) --- US $ 80.2 million
- Kelk Sia (Latvia) --- US $ 21.4 million
- Dorado Consult (Great Britain) --- US $ 4.8 million
North-South railway link will connect Iran, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan with the Russian, and subsequently European, railway systems. It will also create a link for Russia and China to reach the warm waters of Indian Ocean.
The railway link will connect Uzen in Kazakhstan with Gyzylgaya, Bereket and Etrek in Turkmenistan and Gurgen in Iran.
