Turkmenistan to Pardon 1269 Prisoners on Flag Day

Ashgabat, 14 February 2008 (nCa) --- Turkmenistan has pardoned 1269 prisoners and they will be set free before the National Flag Day that fall on 19 February 2008.
The remaining sentence of the prisoners, including many foreigners, has been commuted under a decree signed Wednesday by President Berdymuhamedov.
Complete list of pardoned prisoners would be published in the national newspapers of Turkmenistan.
It is not clear whether any high profile prisoners are included in the list.
