Ashgabat, 12 July 2007 (nCa) --- Turkmenistan started rebuilding Wednesday the only railway link that connects with Afghanistan.
The 7-km Kushka-Torgondi railway line is a critical segment that gives Afghanistan access to the central Asian, Iranian and Russian railway systems.
During the recent visit of Afghan President Hamid Karzai to Ashgabat, Turkmenistan promised to rebuild the railway link from its own sources.
Total cost of the project is US $ 550000.
